Coconut's Coco-Net
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
I was inspired by the old Windows desktop game "Jezzball" to turn it into a two-player "sport fighting" concept for FGJ April 2026, and added my characters to it for fun.
There are some default controls on WASD/E/R/Space and Arrows/,/.// but the boot screen will let you alter them and also take gamepad inputs.
All the buttons trigger a grappling hook, with the net and ball buttons also carrying an item. Holding the button down lets you reach farther and place the items distantly.
There is a simple CPU opponent that only defends. It's very easy to beat, but helps demo the mechanics.

Install instructions
DO NOT CLICK LOVE.EXE, IT WON'T WORK. RUN THE PLATFORM-SPECIFIC FILE:
run-windows.bat
run-linux.sh
run-osx.sh
The game is written and tested in LOVE2D 11.5 on Solus Linux. The zip file merges a copy of LOVE2D for all platforms. I have tested Windows and Linux.

This was fun. I wish it was a little bit faster-paced, it can get chaotic quickly and that's part of the enjoyment.
